This was where it all began. A single image in the mind’s eye, that spawned an epic tale. Originally a short-film idea, that became a novel, that is now set to become a multi-part series, The Secret Fire Saga is an epic high-fantasy story drawn from the same embers as Lewis and Tolkien.

Set in the fictional world of Erayim, The Secret Fire Saga is an epic tale that has been likened to such series as The Lord of The Rings, The Name of the Wind, and The Golden Compass.

When tragedy unexpectedly strikes, Anneke, a twelve-year old girl who lives in the Polderlands, must make a fateful decision. She is unexpectedly befriended by a stranger, and together they uncover a secret about The Marie, her home and working windmill, and a plan left by her Papa. Emboldened by their discovery, and hastened along by an approaching threat, they set off together to find the mythical King who lives at the edge of the world. Anneke’s quest for restoration, along with her internal conflict, and her newfound companion’s secret past will determine their fate. A fate that unbeknown to them, is intertwined with the fate of their entire world.

Book One is well on it’s way at approx. 73% complete. The current draft has been reviewed by my group of Alpha and Beta readers, and the Second Draft will incorporate their feedback as well as new developments.

  • For young and old alike, but the recommended starting age is for Middle Grade readers. The story utilizes some high language, and features mature themes such as death. There are fantastical creatures, and magic. And fighting. To quote my grandmother, “I loved it, except for the action and the scary creatures.” So there.
